Frequently Asked Questions

How is Life Coaching different from Counseling?

Great question! Counseling often focuses on healing from the past—working through trauma, mental health challenges, or unresolved issues. Life coaching, on the other hand, is about building the future. Coaching helps you clarify your goals, identify obstacles, and create a practical plan forward. I like to say: counseling helps you heal, coaching helps you grow.

What should I expect from a coaching session?

Each session is a safe, supportive space where we’ll focus on you. Sessions typically include:

  • Time to check in on progress since our last meeting

  • Questions and discussion around your goals, challenges, and next steps

  • Practical strategies and tools you can apply right away

  • Encouragement and accountability so you don’t have to walk alone

Think of it as a conversation that moves you forward with clarity and confidence.

What kinds of goals can I work on with a life coach?

Pretty much anything that matters to you!
Here are a few examples:

  • Getting more organized with school and life

  • Building confidence and handling stress better

  • Preparing for high school, college, or career moves

  • Breaking bad habits and building healthier ones

  • Balancing faith, friendships, school, and personal growth

  • Expectations in marriage

  • Discovering your purpose and direction

Do I have to be a Christian to work with you?

Not at all. While my coaching is rooted in Christian values, you don’t have to share my beliefs to benefit. I work with people of all backgrounds. If faith is important to you, it can be part of our conversations. If not, our focus will remain on your personal growth, values, and goals.

How does faith show up in sessions?

Faith can be woven into sessions as much—or as little—as you’d like. For some clients, this means prayer, scripture reflection, or aligning goals with biblical principles. For others, it’s simply knowing their coach operates from a faith-based foundation. It’s always led by your comfort level and preferences.

How is Christian coaching different from pastoral counseling?

Pastoral counseling often focuses on spiritual healing and ministry guidance. Christian coaching is future-focused—it helps you clarify your calling, make confident decisions, and take practical steps forward, all while keeping your faith at the center.

How long does coaching take to see results?

Many clients notice shifts after the first few sessions—like greater clarity, motivation, or new perspectives. Meaningful transformation usually takes consistency. That’s why my coaching packages are designed to give you ongoing support over several months. Growth is a journey, not a quick fix—but every step you take matters.
